Nelsa - Crafting Vicky

Hello!  I'm here this time for September's inspiration!!!! WOW the year sure goes by fast.  The kids are already into school and it's back to the routine.  But I'm not ready to let my summer go.... and this means coloring by the pool.

That's in fact what I did here for the background as well as for the wonderful digi Nelsa.

I really love using my coloring books as backgrounds and this way it will become a full journal when I'm finished with it.  I wanted this little fairy to be perched somewhere.  And the branches were just perfect.

The image was colored with my copics and I used a gel pen to make her wings all shiny. The background was colored with my colorsoft derwent pencils.  The sentiment was found while researching on google.

Hope you like it and that it does give you some inspiration.  Have a fabulous Saturday and stay creative!!!  Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!

Augusts new images, take two!

Hey there Karleigh Sue fans!

This month seems to have simultaneously dragged, and gone by too quickly! over here in the UK, I'm getting ready for my children to go back to school, and over in the USA Cheri has been really busy working on her new book- it's an exciting one, as if you have been 'pinned up' by cheri, your picture will be in the book! how awesome, eh?

in today's post, we are bringing you some more projects made with this month's new images!

Lynda has totally NAILED monochromatic on this card- it makes for a delightfully creepy creepmas card!

She's also played with voodoo doll, and she really pops against that background. don't you love the texture on this card?

(Rachel) I've created a little creepmas sleigh, with Merry Creepmas- I can just imagine her loading up her sleigh with ghoulish gifts.. I only had leftover candy from last years Halloween.. candy canes don't last from year to year in this house!

Vicky has outdone herself with another gorgeous page, I love the under the sea colour scheme and all those little glittery sequins! she's got a video to share with you in her post too!

and Winnie has made a card with take no shit , and I love the grunge feel on this card!

Which is your favourite image, and what would you do with yours?

you can grab all these and more in cheri's store, and then hp over to share them in the karleigh sue facebook group- we always love to see what you are doing with the images, and some new crafty blogs to take a peek at.. so if you haven't joined us already, come and say hey!

Sexy and I know it! - Crafting Vicky

Hello!  I'm here to share with you my inspiration post for the month of August.  I wanted this month to convince you to try to use all your left over paints and other medium for future use.

In my case for this one I had made a brusho background and I used my little index card to wipe up the excess.  It was the perfect start to a background for the image Sexy and I know it.

I made a super short video to share with you the process here:

And here's the view of the ICAD ( the term is used for Index card a Day - but most of us use it just to refer to an index card because not many actually do one a day....)

Using leftovers like this really does jump start your creative process!!! This image was colored with copics and fussy cut.  I also have to admit to being totally ADICTED to magazine cut outs... so much fun using pre-typed sentiments this way.

Hope you like it and that it does give you some inspiration.  Have a fabulous Friday and stay creative!!!  Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!

Hugs

New release for August

This month we are playing with new digital images with  more of a creepmas/halloween themed feel!

I am very excited for this tme of the year, as I'm not really an avid holiday fan, but I do like halloween! It's not so much of a big thing over in the uk, but our village usually throws a party for the children, and it is a lot of fun. I know Cheri is a big halloween fan too, and enjoys carving pumpkins when she isn't drawing stuff up!

Rachel, Karleigh Sue Coordinator

There are four new images which will shortly be arriving in the Karleigh Sue Digital stamps section of Cheri's Store which you can find at www.cherishull.com

there is one cute and sweet and three dark and creepy (but still rather cute in their own way)

the four images are called: Take no shit, Tattered fairy, Voodoo Doll and Merry Creepmas!

The team have all used different mediums and layouts for their projects which I hope will give you some ideas on using the images to create your own projects- and we'd love to see yours with the new images over in the Karleigh Sue digital stamps fan group on facebook!

Lynda using tattered fairy

Lynda has combined this image with a background digital stamp from another company, for a wonderfully cute and whimsical feel card which you can read about on her blog

Rachel Using  voodoo doll

El Gato Dia De Los Muertos

Good morning! Lynda here just popping in to share a little inspiration using El Gato Dia De Los Muertos. Such a fun little fella to colour. Guaranteed to make anyone smile don't you think?

To create my card I die cut a scalloped circle from some pearlescent pink card, and layered it over a pretty printed piece of parchment paper. I hand stamped paw prints over it, and added a senti from a recent stamp set magazine freebie. I fussy cut the cat and mounted him on foam pads for added dimension.

Don't forget you can come and chat with us about all things Karleigh Sue over at our new Facebook page. We'd love to see what you are making with your digis.

That's it from me for now, but do keep and eye open here on the blog as there will be more inspiration soon, and the DT are busy working on some lovely new release images to inspire you soon too. You won't want to miss these!!

Bye for now

queen collector

Hi there! Rachel with you today to share a card made with the digi 'queen collector' (store link)

which was one of the new release images that Cheri created last month!

it's a super cute image, I think you will agree, and perfect for teenage girls cards too!

I coloured the image using copic markers, and used three different patterned papers, trying to use papers that coordinate with the colours in the image. It is ALWAYS easier to pick your papers first, but I don't always do that! sometimes it is just as fun to have a good rummage in my paper collection and see what I can find after the image is already coloured. I'm also guilty of using the same colour scheme quite a lot, as I have some favourite colour combos I use over and over again!

I attempted to use minimal embellishment on this one, so added a couple of little jelly dots from queen and co, a pink button and some twine, and nothing else - sometimes it is nice not to pile it on, it depends on my mood!

the main thing is to create and have fun- I hope you like this card with it's slightly jaunty angles!

Tough Girls Eat Cookies by DT Lynda

Lynda here stopping by to share a little inspiration for you. This time I have used Tough Girls Eat Cookies. Cookies, or biscuits as we call them here in the UK are my absolute weakness so I totally identify with this digi!!

I kept my card nice and summery using yellows and blues, teaming her with co ordinating cards and paper from my stash. I kept the card simple, just finishing it off with a pretty ribbon, some brads and a sentiment.

Have you heard that we have a brand new Karleigh Sue Facebook page? No! Well look no further, click the link here and come and join in the chat and share your Karleigh Sue creations.

Hope to see you there!
