Skull Bow Cupcake Inspiration

Hi everyone this is my very first post as a member of the Karleigh Sue Design Team. Ive chosen the digi image Skull Bow Cupcake to share with you. I thought of my youngest sister when I made this she loves all things gothic. So This will be her birthday card.
To make this card I first printed off the skull cupcake digi off 4 times and coloured it in sections with copic markers so that I could turn it into a 3D project by popping each piece up with double sided foam tape. I used a purple base card then matted it with black card and then a birthday paper from Papermania. I embellished with a purple fluffy sort of ribbon from my stash, some glitter on the cake sprinkles and a little yellow sentiment tag that I made.
The copic markers that I used are:
BV11,BV13,BV17,C1,C3,C4,C5,C7,RV13,RV17,E50,E53,E31,W0,W1 AND W3

HIPPIE LOVE TO YOU:)

Hello everyone!  Today is my first post here on the Karleigh Sue Inspiration blog and I'm so excited to be part of the New Release and Inspiration DT!!  I am Audrey and my nickname is Hippieaud largely due to the fact that my main wardrobe is mostly tie dye:)

Naturally, when I saw Hippie Love image in Karleigh Sue Etsy Shoppe, I knew I had to create with her!    I am very systematic about how I color my images.  I start with the hair and then I do the skin.  For her hair, I used Copic colors Y21, Y26 and E33.  Next I do the skin, and my standard skin combo, which I used here is E000, E00, E21, E11 and E04 with R21 added for cheeks.

Next in my "process" is that I pick out my papers.  For this card I chose DP from Bo Bunny.  I typically color my image to match my chosen papers, so that is why I choose them prior to finishing the coloring of my image.  I colored the skirt with E40, E41, E42, E43 and E44 and the waist band in E47 and E49.  Shoes were done with E43, E44, E47 and E49.  Ground drawn in using E31 and E33.  I pretty much always try to ground my images so they don't look like they are floating in space.  Obviously there are exceptions to this, such as if the image is to be floating in water or in the sky, etc.

Next it is time to bring in color and I like lots of fun, bright color most of the time and since I chose DP with fun, bright colors, I used them on my image as well.    Flower is done with E57 and E59 in center and petals are YR21, YR24 and E33.  Greens (hair feathers, purse, jewelry) used are G99, YG67, YG, 17, YG13 and YG11.  Pinks (head scarf and jewelry) RV09, RV17, RV19 and RV69.  Oranges (shirt and on purse stripe) YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09, YR18 and E19.  I also added some touches of Sakura glaze and Atyou Spica pens on some of her jewelry to bring a little sparkle.

For my die cuts, I chose some of my newest Nesties for the 3 layered flower piece and the sentiment.  I added some Doodlebug bling to this as well for some more color and sparkle.  Bling at bottom is Your Next Stamp.  Image is cut with new Couture Creations dies.

I sure hope you like how this came out and hopefully it has provided some inspiration for you:)  Remember to check out New Karleigh Sue Digi ShoppeKarleigh Sue Facebook Fan Group and Karleigh Sue Challenge blog.  Have a great day!!

I have made a handmade album with pages blank for journalling or for adding photos to.

The whole item is made by hand, and hand bound.

The image 'treasure for life' a poignant pregnant mermaid, is coloured with copics and a white gelly roll pen
