Free at Last by Lynda

Helloooo! Lynda here stopping by share a bit of inspiration for you. This time I have used Free at Last- isn't she amazing?! I had fun colouring her up ( with copics) , so much hair to tackle!! I also created a little scene for her using a castle stamp that I have in my stash ( made by Visible Image, one of my favourite stamp companies). The castle and background scene was coloured with promarkers as sadly I don't have enough greens in copics- yet! I'm definitely working on that one but sshhh don't tell hubby  ;)

The senti is also hand stamped. I wanted to show that the pin ups can be used for cards for girlfriends as well as men- you just need the right sentiment to make it work.

Don't forget if you are a Facebook user and haven't joined up already, you can follow Cheri's page The Coloring Queen- dom and join in our growing community of colourists. We love to chat about colouring, and see all your projects so pop along if you can. Would be great to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by

Have you heard - Crafting Vicky

Hello!  I'm here for my 2nd inspiration post of the month and I had fun journaling again.  But this time just for the fun of it in a journal that I made some time ago and don't use enough!

Here is the make using the wonderful image Have you heard.

Since it's an homemade journal the pages are from the book itself.  And the background came together as an accident because I had put too much brushos on the page on the other side.  When I closed the book to try to absorb some of it this is what happened :)  Love it when the background makes itself!  I use some prima metallic chalk edger in gold.

The image was colored with my copics.  Hope you like it!!!

Have a fabulous Sunday and stay creative!!!  Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!

Hope....

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying your week and getting lots of crafting in!
Here in Australia we are coming into winter which means I get some time off but it's getting wet and cold!!! But the upside is I can craft all day!!!

Today I am sharing and altered index card using a gorgeous freebie Cheri made available to members of the  Colouring Queen-dom Facebook Group and I couldn't resist colouring and creating with her - I like to create and colour "Cause ribbon" images!

I'm playing along with the ICAD challenge again this year and this is one of my "warm up" cards - the prompt was to write a "haiku" poem which is a 3 line poem with the 1st line consisiting of 5 syllables, 2nd line 7 syllables and 3rd line 5 syllables! I've never written one before but tried to write it based on the theme of my "Hope" image - I think I did okay!

Card background is torn book pages and acrylic paint. I computer generated the poem and cut out. image coloured with copics and highlighted with white pen and fussy cut. I placed her a little off the page and trimmed the overhang. the wording and image has been "outlined" with charcoal pencil and smudged - I like the effect.

Don't forget we have a challenge running this month - click here - theme of use your favourite colours - how easy and fun is this challenge???!!!!

And check back here at the blog regularly for more DT inspiration!

Plus Cheri's NEW website for all her images, colouring book info and much more!!!

CAS Card with WW2 Landgirl

Hey there everyone! Rachel here with you today, to show you my latest card, using the gorgeous WW2 Landgirl-  you can find her in the custom section of the store, as she was my very own custom image!
I have had it coloured up for a little while, and finally worked out the perfect card layout to showcase it.... she was definitely asking for a touch of understated grunge.

I requested a WW2 Land Girl, because that's how I feel sometimes- I'm a country gal, and we are very much into sustaining our own family, with home grown produce... so if you can't find me online, I'm likely either in my blanket fort colouring, or down the allotment doing a bit of hoeing!

This card is a very Clean and simple sort of layout, with the sentiment stamped with alpha stamps straight onto the image layer... also on the same layer, I stamped some splats with distress and archival ink, to mimic a little mud.
The main image is coloured with copics and a little white gelly roll marker in the highlights.

for info on the other products used in this card, you are welcome to hop along over to my blog.

have a good day!

One Love by Lynda

Good morning! The sun is shining here in the UK and it promises to be a beautiful day, so today's inspiration card seems to be perfectly timed as I have gone with a chirpy summery, festival feel.

I have used One Love, coloured with copics and promarkers. I kept the card fairly simple, just using one funky patterned paper, and a sentiment and embellishment from a scrapbooking set I have had lurking for a while.

Don't forget we still have a challenge running here on the blog too. You can find it here. All you have to do is use your favourite colours on any project you like. Simple right? Not many entries as yet so your chances of winning are good if you play along.

If you love colouring too then also hope on over to the Coloring Queen-dom on Facebook. Lots of fun and chat happens there so we'd love you to join in.

Have a great Sunday whatever you are up to ( crafting I hope!)

Prince Tribute - Crafting Vicky

While I was in Greece the world lost a great artist.  And at the time I wasn't able to express how sad I was with this loss.

Prince meant so much to me.  My teenage years were marked with his singing and of course my dancing... not that I danced all that well but I thought so at the time.

Anyway when I saw this fabulous digi from Karleigh Sue I knew that I totally HAD to play with it for this tribute.

I wanted to have some of the words of one of his song as the sentiment on this... but at the same time the album Purple Rain with that song was just my 1st thought... but the song didn't fit however "When doves cry".

I colored the image with my copics.  The background was made with some deli paper that I painted purple then I did some dendritic print on it with white paint and tore those out.  I added some ribbon as well as a spellbinder diecut.  I used some prima chalk paint on the side.

Hope you like it!!!  If you want more information you can check out my blog here.

Have a fabulous Saturday and stay creative!!!  Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!

Biker Bomb!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm here today sharing another journal page using "Biker Bomb" - available in store now!!!!

Click here to be taken to Cheri's Website for lots of eye candy, to shop, for colouring book info and lots more!!

I loved colouring this image with pastel pencils - she's a cool biker chick!!

Journal page background is ink sprays and a stencil I made on my Silhouette and the motorbike is also a Silhouette file and was perfect for this page!

I love purple so I've coloured Biker Bomb to match in with the background.

I used my Dymo label maker to add the "Wanna Go For A Ride" wording - the label makers are a great way to quickly add words or a saying to your journal pages - normally I computer generate or use individual letter tiles but I "found" this Dymo in a cupboard LOL forgot I had it - too much crafting gear????

Don't forget we have lots going on at the Colouring Queendom Facebook Group plus challenges, events and general chat and tips!!!

See you again soon with more inspiration later this month!!

Group inspirational post and newsletter

Hello there, and I hope you are all having a fantastic day, wherever you are in the world!

May already has been a super busy month here at Karleigh Sue, with new books, digital stamps, and a lot of behind the scenes planning of various things.

As well as the new Mary Jane book, which arrived to join the colection from Cheri last month,  this month has also seen the release of the karleigh sue's little black coloring book, which is a mini sized book full of pin ups and sassy quotes- perfect to put in your handbag for coloring when you are bored but on the move, or for tucking into the glove box to color on the school run!
you can see more info on these books on the website, along with their links on Amazon.

and if two books in as many months weren't enough for you, I've been assured that there
is also going to be a new release of digital stamps next month on this date, (the 16th) so please keep your eyes peeled for those- Cheri is busy working on them behind the scenes, and from the previews I've seen, you are not going to want to miss them- so put the date in your calendars, and be back here on the 16th to see what she has dreamed up, and what the designers have created to fuel your creative mojos!

That's it for our news this month (so far), but we are not about to leave you without showing you what the karleigh sue inspirational team have been up to...
for today, they have some creations for you using the new Mary Jane digital stamps that you can find at cherishull.com - these digital stamps were released at the same time as the new mary Jane's adult coloring book, and are a very alternative yet fun set of stamps. the team collaborated on the theme this month, and decided they wanted to take the green theme from the last coloring team forward, and create makes heavily inspired by the Mary Jane Digis and the color GREEN..

Rachel has used the Mary Jane  'Ganga Fairy' digital stamp,

to create this 4 x 6" fridge magnet

Lynda has used  Mary Jane 'Freshly Baked'

to make this bright and punchy card with a hilarious (and very true) sentiment

Sharon has used Mary Jane 'peace pipe'

to create this gorgeous mixed media art journal page

and Crafting Vicky has also been art journalling, with Mary Jane  'Stoner Chick'

don't you just love those pick 'n' mix letters, and that washi?

If you want to see more of these projects, head over to the designers blogs for more detail on these projects!

don't forget to subscribe to this blog, to keep up to date with all the news, first peeks at the new releases, inspirational posts and the monthly crafter's challenge
&
for more inspiration by the karleigh sue team, Cheri's coloristas and the coloring community  (and to share your own adult colorings), head over to the
coloring Queen-dom, our adult coloring book on facebook!

we hope to see you soon!
