Today I am sharing a journal page using the fun and quirky Terrestrial digi available in store!!
You have probably noticed I love working in my journals!
As soon as I saw this digi I knew I wanted to use the "Women are from Venus" saying - love to make fun pages with a bit of humour!
I used a variety of mediums on the background - paint, serviette pieces, builders mesh, texture paste, stencil, posca pen and some puff paint to make the "smoke" coming from her spaceship LOL!
I stamped some large letters on paper, cut out and added a "border" with sharpie texta and adhered to the page.
Image was printed on card and coloured with pastel pencils - I gave her a bit of a "green" tinge so she looked out of this world!!
Hope you can find some inspiration from my creation today!
Today I am sharing another of my journal pages using one of the images available in the January Colour Club Pack - if you haven't seen this set you must have a look - a great lot of images for a super great price!
CLICK HERE to be taken to the store - and remember there were new releases recently so make sure you have a look at them too!
You might remember my journal page using one of the new release images where I used my sewing machine and some lace and ribbon on the page well this page is the BACK of that other page.
Normally I would cover the stitching with book pages or collage images so I had a flat surface to work on BUT this time I decided why not take advantage of the "decoration" already on the page and allow it to show through!
All I did was adhere some sheer serviettes all over the page in soft pinks which allowed the sewing to still be visible - I love the effect - LOL sheer like her underwear?????
When I saw this image I automatically thought of yoga and the downward dog pose - of course it's not exactly like that pose but that's what it made me think of so I added the word "RELAX" and also the letters going around the coloured image!
The
card is 6 x 6 and layered with cream card and some lovely papers from my stash
I coloured the image with copics
e57,55,53 and 51
rv99,95,93 and 91
e53,51 and 50 I die cut the image with a matching border I added a rectangle layered with matching papers
I added a sentiment printed from the computer but was with the image just re-arranged and layered with the same card I added a die cut heart and some feathers and a beautiful die cut flowermade with love by me
Hi there everyone! hope you are having a good day! it's been a manic one here in the wilds of Rutland, with my husband recovering from a minor surgery, and the kids squabbling like crazy.. add a mother in law to the mix, and yea... hopefully you will understand why i'm a bit late getting my post out to you!
I have a birthday card for you today, using 'birthday surprise'.. I didn't intentionally set out to make a birthday card to show you, but this image is FANTASTIC for what I was practising on- adding translucency to coloured images!
the image used is 'birthday surprise' and I'm sure the surprise is what clothing she has left after letting all the balloons go!
yup- plenty of shiny balloons, which although still pretty cute coloured without looking at how they relate to each other, and colouring accordingly, look awesome when you show some of the colours behind them, don't they? I'll try to bring you a more in depth tutorial later on this month for the technique.. it looks daunting and scary, but in reality it's not so difficult!

OMG did you check out what the fabulous Cheri did for me?!? Did you?!? There's a brand new digi that's called Vicky and it was made based on my request and picture :) I just have to admit that this digi Vicky is much better than the original model that's me lol.
My inspiration was a hippie because well I was born at the end of the 60s and that was the type at the time. I also love that type of clothing and the loose and flowery stuff. I don't know what happened to me this year but I'm all about tuniques and loose flowing tops :) but I don't look that sexy hee hee hee.
Anyway I just HAD to play with my digi!!! And I thought I would share with you what I made. I used a great background that I had made in a class using some silks paints.
I printed her quite big because I really wanted the focus on the image. I also added a bunch of different magazine cut out words for this. This is a journaling about the NEW me!!!! Thank you so much Cheri for making this new me come out!!!! You have no idea how much this means to me!!!!
Here's a closer look at the fab digi. I colored her up with my copics and then I fussy cut her out.
Hope you like it!!! If you want more information you can check out my blog here.
Have a fabulous Sunday and stay creative!!! Don't forget to check out the store for some fab digis!!!
Hi there, I have a little spinning card tutorial for you today- please excuse my work area... my mat has given up the ghost, so I'm working directly on the table!
today I am working with Cupid , yet another image from this month's colouring club!
in your image editing software size cupid to 10cm x2 and flip one image.
2.print, and fussy cut, or cut out on your electronic cutting machine- I used my Brother Scan 'n' cut. I always cut before colouring, in case something goes wrong - sometimes things shift on my mat, and I'd rather err on the side of caution!
3. put one of the images (it does not matter which one) face down, add DST to the top and bottom, and run a piece of thread down the middle. leave the ends long for now!
4. add more tape to the outside area of the image, and add the other one (face up) to it. this is why one image was flipped in the first stage.
5. Now the fun begins- you need to find yourself a circle die, or a circle to draw around and cut out - I used Sizzix Framelets circle dies (the largest one)
you will need to be careful that the papers and your card blank line up once your circles are cut- take it from me, this is not always the easiest task, and is why I've minimised my layers - just the card blank (14.5cm square) and a patterned paper. you may also notice later in this tutorial, my paper changes, as I changed my mind!
my suggestion is to use low tack tape, to make sure neither the die, papers or card blank shift when cutting.
6. add a little tape to the top and bottom of the circle on your card blank, and attach cupids string to it- you want a little string at top and bottom, and you need to make sure the image will not snag on the edges of the circle.
7. now you carefully adhere your patterned paper on top, making sure everything lines up.
(I'm sorry, here some of my photos weren't the best, so I will have to talk you through to the end!)
8. finish how you wish! I diecut another circle to place behind the image, on the inside of the card, stamped a sentiment, added some die cut hearts, and freehand doodled around the edge.
Then have a spin.... :)
thank you for sticking with me through this, and do let me know if you decide to give it a try...
Hi there! today I (Rachel) have a card for you using one of the new images from this month's colouring pack at Karleigh Sue which is comprised of five digital stamps, lots of extra elements and five colouring pages too, which you can enter into the colouring competition running in the fan group .. you get a lot for $10 and with 5 colouring pages, you have a total of five entries to the competition!
I'm using 'love sick nurse' today, who is perfect for a get well soon card, or a valentine!
This card is fairly clean and simple, with minimal layering and embellishment, coloured using copics. The full list of products I've used are hidden over on my blog, I'd love to have some more visitors, so please do drop by and say hello!
Today I have a journal page to share with you made using several of the images available in the January Colour Club Pack!!
Click here for the direct link to the store to purchase this amazing pack of images!!
I'm "playing along" with a few journal inspiration groups which provide prompts - words or phrases for the inspiration to create pages! The prompt for this particular page was "Word of the Year" - so choose your own word - LOL I decided I needed to relax a bit more - running your own business is stressful and tiring so my aim is to try to get a bit more relaxation in!!
Page background was easy and quick!
Using 2 shades of blue paint I used a baby wipe to cover the entire page quickly and evenly with the blobs of paint. Then I used white paint and a stencil (mini mod spirals by the crafters workshop) to make swirls like bubbles all over the page.
I coloured all the images with Copic Markers (all images from the new colour club pack) and fussy cut - you will come to realise I have a fear of white space and I chop it off!!!
Bubbles in the bath are white puff paint - great for froth and foam and also if you are creating "snow" on your images!!
I adhered the images to the page with glue along with a few bits of muslin cloth for some added texture. And finally the RELAX letters are from a sticker pack I have.
Champagne and candles and a bath are a sure fire way to RELAX !!
